Meridian's users are analysts who live in the product eight hours a day and need density, not simplification. I mapped the full information architecture across dashboards, query builders and report distribution, then designed a layout system that scales from a single metric to a 60-column dataset without breaking rhythm. The work sat directly between product strategy and engineering: data-shape constraints informed the visual grammar, and the visual grammar in turn shaped what the API needed to return. The result is a platform that stays coherent as the data gets messier.

Meridian’s core users are analysts who spend their entire workday inside the product, requiring maximum data density rather than oversimplified, consumer-grade interfaces. To accommodate this expert workflow, I mapped the platform's comprehensive information architecture, encompassing complex dashboards, custom query builders, and report distribution channels. From this foundation, I engineered a highly resilient layout system capable of scaling seamlessly—from displaying a single isolated metric to handling massive, 60-column datasets—without ever losing its visual rhythm or compromising readability.
This initiative sat squarely at the intersection of product strategy and technical execution, requiring a tight feedback loop between front-end design and back-end logic. Rather than designing in a vacuum, the visual grammar was directly informed by hard data-shape constraints, which in turn dictated exactly what the API needed to return. By treating the database architecture and the user interface as a single unified system, the final outcome is a robust platform that maintains absolute structural coherence, even as the underlying user data grows increasingly complex and messy.
